Brilliantly prepared by Ballymore's Pam Gerard, donning The Oaks Stud colours, Savaglee swiftly moved up the grades securing back-to-back Group winning performances, before stamping his class with a dominant victory in the Gr.1 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai New Zealand 2000 Guineas. He followed this with a dominant win in the Gr.2 Levin Classic, before crossing the Tasman to be narrowly beaten in the Gr.1 Australian Guineas.
