There’s double the reason to come down to Woodville Racecourse this Sunday.

While the Woodville-Pahiatua Racing Club will be marking their 150th anniversary, the meeting will also be the perfect opportunity to celebrate Dads on Father’s Day.

There will be plenty of excitement on offer on the track, with eight races carded, including the Tararua Hurdles (3000m) and Tararua Steeplechase (4800m).

Both races have attracted a strong line-up, with the Hurdles set to feature stakes performer and former Grand National Hurdles (4200m) winner Happy Star and former Pakuranga Hunt Hurdle (4200m) winner Taika, while the steeplechase will feature champion jumper West Coast and his vanquisher in the Hawke’s Bay Steeplechase (4800m) at the track back in July.

Between races, there will be plenty of activities on offer to keep the family entertained, including the LOVERACING.NZ Pony Scurry Series heats, as well as a variety of food options on course.

For those wanting to treat their father, there will be a champagne breakfast on offer for just $25 per person, email [email protected] for tickets.

For those fashionistas in the family, come dressed in your finest attire of yesteryear, with a fashion in the field taking place, with prizes to be won.

Entry is free, so why not celebrate your Dad with a fun, family-friendly day out at the races.

Gates open at 10am.
