Taupo - December 30

Fifth on debut, beaten less than three lengths, and deserves another chance after slow start and settling back on inner. Didn’t have a lot of room up the straight and will have learnt a lot from the experience.

Kurow - December 30

 

Clear last after slow getaway and did very well to finish second, making up a lot of ground late. That was his first start and makes him one to definitely watch out for.

 

New Plymouth December 31

Would have finished closer than third but for being held up at a vital stage. That was his third unlucky run in a row, so he's due a change in fortune.

 

Ellerslie - January 1

Punters got burnt again but it wasn’t her fault. Had to be ridden for luck from an inside draw and got none when she needed it with multiple checks from the top of the straight. She finally got clear when it was all over and hit the line hard.

 

Riverton - January 1

First starter whose inexperience showed through the early stages, but just as she was building momentum was severely checked. Got going late and found the line, so stay with her.
