Matamata will bring in the Christmas cheer in the best possible fashion at their popular Noble and Lee Twilight Xmas Meeting this Friday, 20th of December.

This raceday has something for everyone, with a kick-off time of 3.10pm allowing you to knock off work early, head to the races and enjoy an evening of entertainment, good company, and great racing.

 

On the track, the seven-race card will be headlined by the Listed Team Wealleans Matamata Cup (1600m), a race featuring several local talents, as well as the visitors coming to spoil the party. Representing the Matamata contingent will be Group Two winner Mali Ston alongside Te Akau stablemates Midnight Blue and My Lips Are Sealed.

 

New Plymouth raider Tavattack cannot be underestimated, with the same to be said for Mary Shan, a multiple Group Two-placegetter last season.

 

The undercard features a number of maiden and Rating 65 races for our up-and-coming gallopers, with a few key runners to keep an eye out for, including stakes performer Bourbon Proof (Ancroft Stud 1600) and the impressive Cheaha (Noble and Lee Chartered Accountants 1400).

 

With the majority of hospitality options now sold out, Matamata Racing Club welcomes all racegoers on-course free of charge.

 

If you prefer to celebrate in a casual setting among your loved ones, the Christmas Boot Party is the way to go, with a 6x6m site with a perfect view of the home straight for $50 per site. Barbeques and picnics are encouraged, so sit back and toast to 2024 on track at Matamata.
