Spring racing is heating up at Riccarton Park Racecourse and Cup Week is on the horizon, with the Listed New Zealand Bloodstock Canterbury Belle Stakes (1200m) set to headline an exciting afternoon at the Group One Spring Raceday Party.

During the meeting this Saturday, 14th of September, Group One Raceday Party ticketholders will have exclusive access to the private Phar Lap room, with food, drinks, live music, prizes, and most importantly, a front-row seat to the thoroughbred action is on offer.

This action will include the Canterbury Belle, a key race for fillies in the South Island to lodge their claim for the Gr.1 Barneswood Farm New Zealand 1000 Guineas (1600m) in November. Te Akau’s Riccarton stable have a three-pronged attack in the feature, with top Northern hoop Opie Bosson set to take the ride aboard The Victress, and for the locals, Diablo Blanco has been the form filly of the season so far.

A nine-race card features a pair of open handicaps including the return of Southern Alps Challenge winner Matscot in Race 6, alongside $100,000 Polytrack Feature winner Spartan and proven mare Third Decree.

After the last at 5.13pm, the party will continue for the Group One racegoers until 7pm, with buses then available to the after-party. Tickets are available for $120pp.
