The Wanganui Jockey Club (WJC) are preparing for their feature raceday this Saturday, 31st of August, with the running of the Listed H S Dyke Wanganui Guineas (1200m) to headline a fantastic afternoon in the Central Districts.

The Wanganui Guineas is a key kick-off point in three-year-old stakes racing for the new season in the region, with local trainers reaping the rewards in recent years including Chrissy Bambry (Chantilly Lace) and Fraser Auret (Sheez Dominant).

The WJC, alongside Sportz Bar and Entain, will provide punters with an exciting opportunity through the eight-race card, with the Wanganui Punter Of The Year competition offering a $4,000 prize to the winner, alongside an additional $1,000 in bonus cash paid into your TAB account.

To have your shot at the honours, get a team together and enter before 5pm on Friday, with the $45 entry including a luncheon and dessert, a complimentary drink and a Punters Pack.

For those attending the racing action, there is free entry and parking available at the course.
