Outstanding hurdler Happy Star gave his rivals weight and a beating as he signalled his readiness to defend his Grand National Hurdle crown next Saturday with a decisive victory in the Avon City Ford Sydenham Hurdles (3100m) at Riccarton. The victory also provided jumps racing maestro Kevin Myers with a record eighth win in the race as a trainer.
