A bright future is being tipped for New Zealand-bred filly Coeur Volante following her impressive maiden win over 1300m at Sandown on Wednesday.

The daughter of Proisir was having her second start for trainer Michael Moroney, having finished fourth on debut over 1000m on the same track last month.

She settled off the pace for jockey Billy Egan, who gave her a quiet ride throughout before the pair drew wide down the home straight where Coeur Volante showed a blistering turn of foot to gather in her rivals and run out a 1-3/4 length victor.

"Her work since her run the other day has been outstanding, so it was no surprise to see what she's done today,” Moroney's assistant Glen Thompson told Racing.com.

"She's got class written all over her and it will be interesting to see where she gets to. She's definitely got better things in store.”

Egan was impressed with the filly and believes she won’t have any issue stepping out over further ground.

"She gave me a really good feel,” he said.

“She stepped up to the 1300m no worries at all. The way she raced then, she'd be able to step out in trip no worries with maturity."

Coeur Volante was purchased by bloodstock agent Paul Moroney and Ballymore Stables out of Prima Park’s 2022 New Zealand Bloodstock Book 1 Yearling Sale draft for $90,000.

Bred by Fairdale Stud, the daughter of boom sire Proisir is the second foal of the talented Testa Rossa mare Shanina, whose first foal is the stakes-placed winner Hasstobemagic.

Later on the Sandown card Proisir’s Group Three placed daughter Passione was back in the winner’s circle for Nigel Blackiston when landing the Evergreen Turf Handicap (1400m).

Rich Hill Stud stallion Proisir has been represented by five individual Group One winners this season, including Legarto, Prowess, Levante, Pier and Dark Destroyer.

Proisir is represented by 10 weanlings in Friday’s New Zealand Bloodstock National Weanling & Broodmare Sale, while the winning Shocking mare Rosaleen Dubh is in foal to the champion sire elect.
