With jumps racing in full swing, it’s time to dust off your tweed and reach for your trilby! Doused in courage, bravery and exhilaration, there will be slogging finishes, gallant performances and heroic triumphs. With 13 jumps meetings still to go this year, things are only just warming up!

Waikato Racing Club at Te Rapa, Saturday 17 June

Signature Homes Jumps Day is a longstanding favourite on the calendar of any jumps racing enthusiast. Treat yourself to an afternoon in the Foster’s Lounge, complete with a gourmet lunch and afternoon tea, drinks package, racebook and allocated seating. With the running of the Waikato Steeple & Hurdle, you can bet your last dollar that the big guns of jumps racing will be out to play.

Hawke's Bay Racing at Hastings, Saturday 1 July

 Wellington Racing Club at Trentham, Saturday 15 July

Wellington Steeplechase Day has it all – steeples (over Trentham’s famed figure-eight steeplechase course) hurdles and flat racing. In true Wellington Racing Club fashion, there’ll be plenty of off-track entertainment including fabulous hospitality and a winter fashion in the field competition, sponsored by LOVERACING.NZ.

Canterbury Jockey Club at Riccarton Park, Saturday 5 August

Iconic on the New Zealand jumps racing calendar, the Grand National Festival of Racing is a ‘must-attend’ for any jumps racing enthusiast. The first day of a week of racing with all the trimmings – think fine food, winter fashion, live music and an electric atmosphere, plus the running of three jumps races. Tickets start at $25pp and can be purchased via Riccarton Park’s website.

A day steeped in history, The Racecourse Hotel & Motor Lodge NZ Grand National Steeplechase is one you don’t want to miss! While the jumps racing will be second to none, the day also promises to put on a spectacle of flat racing, hospitality and fashion in the field.

Racing Te Aroha at Te Aroha, 3 September

A race traditionally run at Ellerslie, the newly renovated Te Aroha Racecourse will play host to this year’s running of the Pakuranga Hunt. An open steeplechase event run over 4000m, watch some of the country’s finest jumps jockeys and horses give it their all on the track.
