Saturday saw Zadane take out the final heat of the ODT Southern Mile series at Riccarton Park.

The series attracted 142 starters, 92 individual horses for an average of 14.2 runners per heat.

The field for the final is made up of the 13 horses with 12 points and above who gain automatic entry. The next 3 horses on 11 points gain entry in the following order - Gintys Girl, Zadane (both heat winners) and Namibia Miss (highest rated horse).  Fireglow and Demand Respect, also on 11 points, will be 1 and 2 on the ballot.  The following 4 horses on 10 points will be on the ballot (in order) - Divine Sava, Powerlite, Prince Alby and Phyllite.  This makes up the field of 16 runners and 6 ballots.

The $100,000 final will take place at Wingatui on Saturday 4^th March.
