After getting back in the running, once he got clear he flew home for second in excellent sectionals. Maybe over 1600 metres next up he should go one better.

Race 2 Ascot Park, 9 February

 

Twilight Gem

 

She showed improvement when running second here in good time. Her sectionals were the best in the race and she should go close next start.

 

 

Race 2 Te Rapa, 11 February

 

Niance

 

She almost got up and won and probably would have if she ran straight. Blinkers may help and her closing sectionals indicate she will win soon.

 

 

Race 3 Te Rapa, 11 February

 

Midnight Mass

 

If he hadn't been taken wider on the turn by another runner, he would have pushed the winner. He ran the equal quickest last 200m and looks in for a profitable campaign.

 

 

Race 4 Riccarton, 11 February

 

Vindicator

 

With the best sectionals in his last two runs he needs 1600 metres or more to be a maiden no longer. Just needs a decent pace up front.
