New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing passes on our best wishes to our friends and colleagues at New Zealand Bloodstock on the eve of the 97th edition of the National Yearling Sale Series starting at Karaka on Sunday.

NZTR is thrilled to see a bumper representation from all of New Zealand’s outstanding bloodlines via this country’s remarkable studs, and with it our New Zealand buyers as well as a welcome return to our international friends after a challenging last three years of Covid-interrupted activities.

Horses produced by our New Zealand thoroughbred nurseries have stood the test of time and gained international repute, led by the likes of Cambridge Stud, Pencarrow Stud, Waikato Stud, Trelawney Stud and Windsor Park Stud along with many others. Their progeny has consistently over-achieved on the world racing stage – and judging by the continued high demand for New Zealand-bred thoroughbreds from yearlings to racehorses and broodmares, Long may it continue.

We sincerely hope that all involved have not been adversely affected by the storm that has hit the region, and wish everyone at New Zealand Bloodstock, the vendors who has worked tirelessly and skilfully, and of course all of the buyers, a hugely successful sale.

Book 1 sales begin on Sunday 29 January (shown on Popup Chn 263) and Book 2 from 1 to 3 February (along with Book 1 on Freeview Chn 200 in NZ and also live streamed on NZB website).
