From back in the field, she unleashed a powerful finishing burst for this and ran the quickest last 400 and 200 metres of the meeting. Her run before that was unlucky too, so she is primed to win.

Race 9 Te Rapa, 18 January

Andalus

Although the race time was average, his last 200 metres was the fastest of the meeting and he was eased down late. Connections can now look forward to him paying back some of that $420,000 price tag. Paying $31 to win the Derby.

 

 

Race 8 Ashburton, 19 January

Rocastano

After sitting three-wide in the open he was still able to close off strongly in the fastest 800 and 400 metre sectionals. He is a strong looking galloper ready to win again.

 

 

 

Race 3 Trentham, 21 January

Media Miss

From the widest draw she was caught wide in the open all the way, yet still closed off in the fastest 200 metres of the race. She looks ready to win from a decent draw.

 

 

 

Race 9 Gore, 21 January

The Grey Goose

She got back on the inner and had nowhere to go in the straight and finished seventh. She had more to offer yet ran home in the best sectionals. Watch out for her next start.
