Young gun Matthew Cropp was still an apprentice when he was victorious aboard the John Wheeler trained El Patron in the 2013 Grand National Steeplechase. The victory was no easy feat, in fact it took three years of planning by the master trainer of John Wheeler when due to a tendon injury, many thought El Patron could never race again. Patience paid off dividends!
