60 Seconds With - Briar Weatherley

For some it would be a dream come true to train a winner on their first day of training, and for young Matamata horsewoman Briar Weatherley, that dream came true last Wednesday when she saddled up Breckon Power at Cambridge Jockey Club!

We get to know a bit about the 'new kid on the block' in this week's 60 Seconds With - Briar Weatherley!

1.Describe yourself in three words:

Loving, kind and shy

2.What would you be doing if you weren’t in racing?

Probably would have become a Midwife

3.What is one thing you could not live without?

My phone

4.What would be your first purchase if you won lotto?

A house haha!

5.One to watch from the barn this season?

There’s a few horses I really like, but if I had to name just one it would probably be Ess Vee Are

6.Summer or winter? And why?’

Definitely Summer, just great weather and good racing!

7.What is one race day everyone should attend?

Karaka Million Night for sure, it’s the best night of the year

8.What race would you love to win?

Just any Group One really, they are hard to win so one would be unreal

9.What is your biggest motivation?

My biggest motivation is definitely the horses, when you know you have a good team it makes you want to get out of bed and work hard!

10.What advice would you give someone looking to enter the racing industry?

I would say definitely just keep your head down and work hard! Anything can be achievable if you set your mind to it!
