It was a massive weekend of racing at Ellerslie with Lance O’Sullivan and Andrew Scott going back-to-back in the Gr.1 Vodafone New Zealand Derby with last-start maiden winner Asterix. Bellatrix Black also upset the applecart when she stepped up from a maiden victory to take out the Gr.3 McKee Family Sunline Vase.
