News In Brief
Oaks Prelude transferred to Pukekohe
The Listed Oaks Prelude (1800m) has been postponed for a second time after the abandonment of Taranaki’s meeting at New Plymouth on Friday, with the track deemed unfit for racing before a race was conducted.
The feature event has been added to Wednesday’s Pukekohe race meeting and will now be run over 1600m.
The Oaks Prelude had initially been scheduled for the New Plymouth meeting on Saturday February 5, but after a heavy deluge and a slip in the first event, the race meeting was abandoned.
All races have been left open at the Auckland Thoroughbred Racing meeting at Pukekohe on Wednesday until 9.00am Saturday 19 February. The Group & Listed trial run before the race meeting will also remain open.
The Oaks Prelude will also be open, but preference will be given to horses who were already accepted in the race at New Plymouth on Friday.
