Phar Lap, the mighty chestnut gelding who still to this day sets racing hearts alight. Phar Lap managed just one win from his first 10 starts until unleashing in the Spring of 1930, winning 14 consecutive races. Four of which in just seven days which included the Melbourne Cup where he carried an astonishing 62kg.
