Livamol Classic 2021: 5 Things to Know
Livamol Classic – it could be considered ‘The Race that stops Hastings’, and while this year is set to look a little different to previous, there’s still plenty of ways to get involved!
Put it in the diary
Livamol Classic Raceday 2021 will take place this Saturday! The Group 1 Livamol Classic will be run at 4.25pm.
Who do I bet on?
If there’s one thing for sure, it’s that there’s no such thing as a ‘sure thing’ in racing! The current favourite for this year’s Livamol Classic is the Team Rogerson trained, Beauden.
Can I attend?
Due to the current COVID-19 alert level settings in Hawke’s Bay, Livamol Classic Raceday is a restricted event. Only pre-registered participants, owners and sponsors will be allowed on-course. Hawke’s Bay Racing are selling a limited number of general admission tickets and picnic tables. Secure yours here!
Fashion in the Field – it’s still happening!
While the Caroline Meo Bayleys Fashion in the Field competition will not be run on-course, Hawke’s Bay Racing are still running an online competition (how’s that for adapting?!). Get dressed to the nines, snap a few photos and send five of your best to sam@hawkesbayracing.co.nz. The competition will open Saturday 16 October and close at 4pm Thursday 21 October. With great prizes up for grabs, as well as automatic entry into The Ned Prix de Fashion final 2022, it’s well worth the effort (and a great lockdown activity). Ears pricked? More on this here.
Melody Belle
Melody Belle has won the last two Livamol Classic Races (2020 and 2019). Last year, she became the first horse to complete Hawke’s Bay Racing’s triple crown, winning the Tarzino Trophy, Windsor Park Plate and Livamol Classic. Melody Belle was retired from racing earlier this year and is currently in foal to Written Tycoon.
