Race meetings to proceed

Race meetings scheduled to take place this week will continue despite the extension of the COVID-19 Alert Level 3 border in Waikato.

From 11:59pm on Thursday, the new Waikato Alert Level 3 area will include Cambridge, however, Matamata will remain in Level 2, allowing its Saturday meeting to go ahead as scheduled.

Race meetings in Timaru, Hawera, and Invercargill will also take place as scheduled, however, the Taupo trials scheduled for Friday have been postponed, with a new date to be advised.

Trainers prize added

An additional race has been added to the popular New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Trainers Series, with a 1300m three-year-old event at Hawke’s Bay on October 16.

The winning trainer receives a prize package that includes a $500 travel voucher, $1000 Insurance Voucher, $200 Transport voucher care of Majestic Horse Floats and three month subscription to Raceform.

Thus far trainers Lisa Latta (twice), Jamie Richards (twice), Chad Ormsby and Tracey Bliss have each won the prize pack.

The New Zealand Bloodstock Ready To Run Sale will take place on November 17 and 18.
