Aricina Race 1 Hastings 18 September

At her first run over ground, she hit the line harder than anything, running the best last 200m of the race in 11.70, the third fastest all day. With that being her first run over ground, she will be spot on to win next-up, maybe over a little more ground.

Chase Race 4 Hastings 18 September

The honour of the best last 200 metres all day was with the five-year-old in 11.59, with a very fast late finish. That indicates he will definitely cope with R74 grade next-up.

I Wish I Win Race 5 Hastings 18 September

The way he ran home in the best sectionals of the race, but couldn't quite finish off the job, does indicate he needs blinkers next-up. If he does, then this very good three-year-old can win.

Phantom Witness Race 8 Hastings 18 September

After jumping on terms, he was allowed to settle well back and relaxed nicely off the decent tempo. Once out and balanced up, he really hit the line hard in the best closing sectionals of the race and fourth fastest last 200m all day. Maybe 1400m next-up could be his target, the way he relaxed and charged in this.

Spring Tide Race 9 Hastings 18 September

It was only a very well-judged ride by Jonathan Riddell on winner, Callsign Mav, that got him beaten. The fact that he ran home in the best closing sectionals in all categories, shows that he is right up to winning a Group One, especially on a slow or worse track.

Savy Yong Blonk Race 9 Hastings 18 September

She took a long time to pull up after running the second best last 200m of the race. Wait until she gets to the Livamol, then she can use that staying power to best advantage.

Fonteyn Race 10 Hastings 18 September

Rearing at the start made it very tough for her to get close, but to weave her way through for fourth from last in the second best last 600m, shows she just needs to jump on terms next time to be very hard to beat.
