The first Group 1 of the new season is fast approaching, and it’s doing more than just providing top-tier racing entertainment. Not only does Tarzino Trophy Daffodil Raceday bring the big guns out to play, it also acts as a fundraiser for the Hawke’s Bay Cancer Society, and in more ways than one!

The Daffodil Raceday Silks initiative will be in full swing again this year, with the TAB donating $2000 to the Hawke’s Bay Cancer Society for every horse that wins in the Daffodil Day silks. Keep an eye out for the following runners, who will be carrying the Daffodil Raceday silks...

Race 1 - Suliman

Race 2 - Alchemia

Race 3 - Nod of the head

Race 4 - Chase

Race 5 - Turn the Ace

Race 6 - Cheval Prometteur

Race 7 - Bellacontte

Race 8 - Mohaka

Race 9 - Ocean Billy

Race 10 - Dawn Parade

Looking for a little lockdown entertainment? Join the “Hawke’s Bay Racing Daffodil Day Punters Syndicate”. Held on the TAB website, guest selectors Bruce Sherwin, Butch Castles and the Boy’s Get Paid team will bet on all races on Tarzino Trophy Day and some selected races out of Riccarton.

Clubs receive 9.5% of TAB betting turnover at their course. Hawke’s Bay Racing will be donating 100% of the turnover generated by the Punters Club to the Hawke’s Bay Cancer Society.

Keen to donate? The $10 general admission fee is a straight donation to the Hawke’s Bay Cancer Society. While this year’s edition of the Tarzino Trophy is set to take place behind closed doors*, you can still purchase tickets to make this donation. Alternatively, you can donate directly to the Cancer Society via their website.

* For those who have already purchased tickets expecting to attend the races, Hawke’s Bay Racing will be in touch should you wish to receive a refund.
