What do you love most about racing? How a horse is trained – the long preparation from the beginning of a horse's career to racing. A lot of work goes in to getting a winner.
Favourite career highlight? My first winner on a horse called Al Haram. He gave me a lot of confidence when I was starting out both with trackwork and on raceday.
Favourite horse? Challa – he his given me a few winners now and helped me develop my confidence levels in a race.
Who do you look up to in the jockey room? Troy Harris.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve received? Troy Harris gave me advice to stay focused, work hard and be humble.
When you’re not kicking home winners, how do you like to spend your time? I enjoy watching race replays from New Zealand and around the world, jogging and eating ice cream!
If you could invite two people to dinner, living or dead, who would they be? My mum and dad.
Favourite food? Snapper curry and Asian food with lots of chilli!
