Musigny Lass Race 3 Te Rapa 17 April

She did very well as she burnt from a wide draw to lead and ran a some good 11.65 splits from the 800m to the 200m so did very well to hold on strongly even though she had a light weight. The race time was the second best speed rating all day, so she has a future. Her dam won two of her three races on heavy tracks so wetter track will only help her. She is likely to come back here for the $50,000 race on 8 May.

Doubtful Sound Race 3 Te Rapa 17 April

After running the fastest split of the race of 11.44 from the 600m to the 400m, he did well to still keep finishing strongly for second in nice sectionals. Strong looking galloper with a nice action who should do well over more ground.

Appellant Race 5 Te Rapa 17 April

From the wide draw she got back last but closed off very strongly in the best sectionals in all categories. Won really well second up at Ellerslie last campaign and seems better suited that way round too.

Angaria Race 5 Te Rapa 17 April

He drew wide and tried to get on pace early burning petrol then eased and was 3 wide with cover. From the 400m to the 200m he ran the best split of  11.84 so did very well to keep fighting for fourth after doing that extra work. He won third up in both of last two campaigns and being stronger now, could get that win second up, so he is one to definitely watch out for.
