Easter – a time to indulge in chocolate bunnies AND racing. With five racedays being held around the country this long weekend, you’re spoilt for choice!

Awapuni Racing‘s Courtesy Ford Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes Raceday, Saturday 3 April

Racing enthusiasts, do not miss your chance to witness Two-year-old Group 1 action for the final time this season. With the running of the Courtesy Ford Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes, New Zealand’s richest two-year-old Group level race, you can bet your bottom dollar that the big guns will be out to play!

For the eventgoers among us, with big racing comes an electric atmosphere to match. Join the crowds for a day of celebration with friends and family, or dress to impress and enter The Plaza Fashion in the Field competition. With the Beatgirls performing after the last, kick up your heels and finish the day with a boogie.

Auckland Racing Club’s Autumn Raceday, Saturday 3 April

Get on-course at The Big E for FREE this Easter weekend. Kick back on the public lawn and enjoy a picnic with the family (don’t forget to pack some choccy eggs!), while watching some serious horse flesh do their thing around Ellerslie’s world-class racetrack.

Bring the junior members along - Ellerslie will be prepared with bouncy castles and swingball sets to keep them entertained. Be sure to pop down to the stabling areas and utilise the public access-ways to wish our four-legged friends good luck before they race. It’s the perfect day for anyone and everyone looking for something to do in Auckland this Easter weekend.

Enjoy the sounds of musician Dene Allen between races and treat your tastebuds with an array of food trucks on-course. The best part – you get to do it all over again come Monday!
