Saturday’s Avondale Cup meeting will be held at Ellerslie.

This was confirmed with the announcement that Auckland would move the COVID Alert Level 2 from midnight Wednesday. The remainder of the country will move to Level 1.

The Ellerslie meeting features the $120,000 AJC Avondale Guineas, a key guide to the $1 million Vodafone New Zealand Derby, and the $100,000 Wallen Concreting Avondale Cup, an important leadup to the $500,000 Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup.
