All-Star Mile - voting closes Sunday
Probabeel’s Caulfield win last weekend has piqued interest in her All-Star Mile prospects.
The Matamata mare was in fifth place in voting for the A$5 million All-Star Mile on Wednesday morning. The voting was led by Arcadia Queen, Behemoth, Verry Ellegant and Greysful Glamour.
The top 10 in the public voting will earn a start, along with five “wildcard” entries, who will be selected by a panel.
Public voting will close on Sunday but the running tallies for each runner will be blacked out for the last 48 hours of the voting period.
Probabeel, who has had nine wins and six seconds from 20 starts, has earned more than $2.5 million and will attempt to do better than stablemate Melody Belle, who finished third in the 2020 All-Star Mile.
The 2021 All-Star Mile will be run at Moonee Valley on March 13. The first prize is A$2.25m, with the first 10 placegetters earning at least A$100,000. The race is rotated between Flemington, Caulfield and Moonee Valley.
