New Plymouth Raceway put on another sun-soaked day for the running of the Gr 3 Powerworx Taranaki Cup. With the late scratching of favourite Concert Hall, the race became a wide-open affair. The racing gods were looking down on the Valachi Downs runner Vernanme after their recent passing of champion mare Silent Achiever. The Marsh Racing gelding kicked clear under Michael McNab to take the Gr. 3 in style.
