Cambridge jumping trials - Monday 3 August

The Poormanzabeel has the right profile to make the transition from handy flat galloper to dashing jumper. The son of star jumping sire looked the part in a 2000m hurdle trial at Cambridge on Monday, so watch out for him over the brush fences.

Ashburton - Tuesday 4 August

The Pitman stable has a handy Ocean Park gelding in Marine, who didn’t let a tough run stop him from running away with his 1050m trial at Ashburton on Tuesday. He won’t be a maiden for long.

Ruakaka - Tuesday 4 August

If there’s any justice, Super Pursuit is on the verge of living up to long-held promises. Placed in both his two-year-old starts, the Richard Collett-trained four-year-old has had any number of setbacks but looked right back on track when he won his Ruakaka trial with something in hand.
