We caught up with Ascot Park trainer Jo-Anne Dalton, here’s what we learnt in 60 seconds,
 
What made you want to pursue a career in racing?
My Father trained horses, so I was born into it.
 
What has been a career highlight for you?
When the horse I bred and trained won his first race, Oor Wullie.
 
What do you love most about racing?
The challenge.
 
Do you have a memorable horse you’ve trained?
Oor Wullie.
 
What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?
Believe in yourself.
 
If you weren’t in racing, what else would you be doing?
I work as well, I have an office job as an administrator at Broadspectrum in Invercargill. 
 
If you could invite three people to dinner, who would they be?
Mark Todd, Brian Anderton and Linda Jones. She’s probably my idol.
 
If you could switch lives with someone for the day, who would it be?
Gai Waterhouse.
 
Do you have a favourite TV show?
I like the CSI programmes.
 
What is one thing people are surprised to know about you?
I’m a Leap Day baby, and I’m married to an April Fools baby.
