Blondlign sidelined

In-form galloper Blondlign has suffered an injury at trackwork that will see the five-year-old mare sidelined for a lengthy period.

Prepared at Foxton by Chrissy Bambry, Blondlign won four races in succession this campaign before finishing second to Hanger at her most recent outing.

“She has pulled a bit of her sesamoid bone off with her suspensory, so she will be out for probably 12 months,” Bambry said.

“It’s very disappointing as she looked like she was going to head towards some black-type this season.

“Luckily the owner is happy to rehab her and we will try to bring her back for next year and hopefully she will resume in similar form.”
