ACCESS TO SADDLING ENCLOSURE
Following consultation with the New Zealand Trainers’ Association & Racing Clubs, it has been agreed that entry to the Saddling Enclosures at all thoroughbred racing venues will be restricted to Licensed Trainers & Registered Persons. In conjunction with this directive, the minimum age for staff to enter these areas is 14 years unless a Stipendiary Steward has granted prior approval. In order to enforce this policy, Licensed Trainers and Licensed Persons must display their official NZTR ID card to gain access to the Saddling Enclosure areas on raceday.

Licence Display:
To assist security in ensuring that only authorised people are allowed into the raceday stalls area it is essential that all licence-holders and licenced staff wear their licence badges so that they are clearly visible at all times. Security do not necessarily know trainers and other licence holders by sight and wearing licence badges so that they are easily seen will prevent any unnecessary embarrassment in accessing the stalls area.

SAUNA USE
The following conditions have been reached in consultation with the NZ Jockeys Association and apply to use of the Sauna at Riccarton Park Racecourse.
• There MUST always be at least two (2) people in the Sauna and/or Jockeys Rooms.
• The sauna is NOT to be used by ONE PERSON in the facility on their own.
• All cars are to be parked out on the driveway NOT inside the ‘Arch Gate’.
• The Jockeys Room/Basement area must be locked when leaving. It is not to be left open under any circumstances.
• Lights and heaters are to be turned off.
• A water cooler is installed to provide drinking water.
• Jockeys using the facilities are responsible for cleaning and tidying the sauna, showers, and toilets after use.

IMPORTANT!! – OWNERS PRIVILEGES ALL 3 DAYS: Raceday tickets are provided by way of the barcode on the NZTR letter sent out by email prior to the meeting.

Owners must check their emails for this letter and bring a copy to gain entry. The letter can also be shown on a smart phone. The barcode will be scanned, and Club (Members) Grandstand wristbands will be distributed at that time. Racebooks and Owners ribbons for all races (Special ribbons for the Al Basti Equiworld Dubai NZ 2000 Guineas, Coupland’s Bakeries Mile, Barneswood Farm NZ 1000 Guineas, and Martin Collins NZ Cup) can be collected from the ‘Owners Caravan’ just inside the main turnstiles.

ENTRY TO THE COURSE: Security will be in control of the entrance gates on all three days. Please ensure that you have your NZTR Licence pass or the correct entrance ticket. This will prevent embarrassment or difficulties at the gates. Cars are best to use the Steadman Road entrance and park in the areas provided in the Carriage Paddock.

TRAINERS IF YOU DO NOT GET A WRISTBAND (TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE CLUB GRANDSTAND) AT THE GATE PLEASE COLLECT ONE AT THE RACEDAY OFFICE.

HORSE FLOAT PARKING: All horse floats are to use the containment area.
Trainers and horse float operators are reminded that it is a requirement of the CJC H&S policy that all floats unload and load within the confines of the contained Float Park. Horses must not be unloaded or loaded anywhere other than within this area. Horse floats must enter the Racecourse from the Steadman Road gate.
IF TRAINERS ARE FOLLOWING A HORSE FLOAT IN ANOTHER VEHICLE THEY MUST HAVE THEIR LICENCE AND EVERYONE IN THE VEHICLE MUST HAVE A LICENCE OR TICKET.

STABLE-HAND ID PASSES: Stable-hand passes for those working on the day will gain access through the Float Park only. STABLE HAND PASSES DO NOT GAIN ENTRY ON RACEDAY and DO NO ENTITLE MEMBERS PRIVILEGES.

RACEDAY STALLS: Given the probability of a high number of starters and the resulting pressure on tie-up stalls Trainers are asked to work together in managing the use of tie-up stalls. Please do not leave vacant stalls between you and your neighbour. Any reserved stalls will be released if horses have nowhere to go. Please return horses to the Visitors/Permanent Stables as soon as possible after racing.
Two extra stalls have been created by shifting the Clerks of Course to the Farrier area, eight new outdoor tie-up stalls facing the Grand National Stand have been built and the two small yards have been brought into the area by re-aligning fencing. This creates an additional 12 places for horses resulting in 132 in total.

LICENCE DISPLAY: To assist security in ensuring that only authorised people are allowed onto the racecourse and into the raceday stalls area it is essential that all licence-holders and licensed staff wear their licences so that they are always clearly visible.
Security do not know trainers and other licence holders and wearing visible licences will prevent any unnecessary embarrassment in accessing the stalls area.
