Tuesday 4 September‹ Back to Press Release listings
On 14 August 2012 the NZTR Integrity Committee suspended Mr Paul Harris’s trainer’s licence and provided him with 21 days to provide reasons why his licence should not be cancelled or withdrawn, following the decision by the High Court of Christchurch to make Mr Harris bankrupt.
Today NZTR advised Mr Harris that it has extended the period of his show cause notice to Wednesday 26 September 2012, a day on which he will be required to attend a meeting of the NZTR Integrity Committee in Wellington.
Until the hearing, in accordance with Rule 1106(1)(a), NZTR will allow Mr Harris:
- To attend racecourses and race meetings in order to assist licensed trainer Emma Stackhouse with the preparation, saddling up, wash down and transportation of horses.
- While Mr Harris will be able to enter general areas of the racing facilities, Mr Harris will be unable to enter the saddling enclosure (birdcage) or any areas restricted solely to trainers, owners and jockeys.
