NADS jumped indifferently throughout and was retired from the race passing the 600 metres. A post race veterinary examination of NADS revealed the gelding to be showing signs of tie up. Trainer K Thompson was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to NADS racing again. Trainer K Thompson advised it was his intention to retire NADS. NADS was reported to have lost its near front plate during the running.
