  • Stipe Comment: Clipped a heel and fell to the track near the 600 metres dislodging its rider. MIRAVAL escaped riderless for some distance before being recaptured and following an examination by the oncourse veterinarian was found to be uninjured. T Moodley was immediately attended to by the oncourse St John Ambulance personnel and underwent concussion protocols before being cleared of any injury. After questioning riders and viewing replays, which were of no assistance, Stewards were able to establish that MIRAVAL had improved to the outside of MARAT which when tiring had lay outwards near the 600 metres with MIRAVAL then clipping a heel and falling to the track. Stewards were satisfied that no rider was at fault and accordingly took no further action. T Moodley was stood down from his ride in Race 3 and replaced by G Jogoo.
